The STSC Symposium, a monthly set-theme collaboration between STSC writers, set as its monthly theme “Death”, and apparently that’s been following my writing. Two recent poems, the sonnet published below and one I’m still polishing, both deal with this theme, and I hope when the STSC decides on May’s theme it will be a lighter topic.
Beautiful. I love the way you captured this experience and wove together the discomfort, gore, beauty, grief, normalcy, and connection. Coincidental that we both reflected on animal death in our poems today. 🖤
